Cinnabun it up!

HOTD:
"Cinnabun"

Hello ladies!
Today I wanted to share one of my hairstyles I created this morning with the help of YouTube, some bobby pins, a polka dot headscarf , and of course a drop of creativity (Chuckles). For starters, It's been really cold here in Denton, TX and the weather is not a good friend to neither me or my course, natural hair. In spite of this, I decided to contemplate a few hairstyle ideas I can wear throughout the winter time so that I wont end up with dry brittle hair towards the end of the week.

I decided to explore YouTube yesterday and I eventually stumbled upon one of the cutest hairstyles I've ever seen called the cinnabun. The cinnabun is a cute protective style which requires you to roll, tuck, and pin your hair into a beautiful bun shape. After watching a  select video from a beautiful natural vlogger ,onyxbeauty1988, I decided to give this hairstyle a try. As you can see below, I decided to do the cinnabun hairstyle in the back of my hair while leaving out a twisted bang in the front for some extra flair. :]
(Cute right???)

Take a look!

Items needed:
1.)Elastic headband                               2.) Polka dot scarf                                       3.) Bobby pins

To achieve this hairstyle you will need an elastic head band, a cute head scarf, and of course lots and lots of bobby pins. Next, I recommend you watch onyxbeauty1988's cinnabun hairstyle video for a step-by-step process on how to achieve this cute and elegant hair style. Trust me, it's a perfect updo for natural hair in the winter time! :)

HOTD: Braid out on Natural Hair

HOTD:
"Braid-out on Natural-Hair"
Hello Beauties. I hope you all had a marvelous Saturday. I know for sure I did. My day consisted of much great adventures. First, I visited an amazing potter's design place and to top off the night I ate the best food over at a french inspired restaurant! As you can see below not only did I have a swell day.
I had an even better hair-day as well. Over the past week I plaited my hair in about 10 sections, followed by perm rods for my pesky ends. I also applied Shea-butter and a little gel for definition. I held this style in for about 4 days total. Today, I decided to unleash my hair and let my curls roam free. This style can be best described as a braid-out. As you can see, I achieved much great definition, shine, and softness. This was one of the best braid-outs known to date for me. I just had to share the results with you guys. Enjoy! ;)

Tools used to achieve this style:
One of the few tools I used to create this marvelous hairstyle are as follows:
-Shea Butter
-Perm Rods
-1 Plastic Black Afro Pick

How I preserved this style:
Preserving braid outs and twist outs can be a pain in the rectum. Trust me I know. Well today before bed, I made sure to preserve this braid out for tomorrow and for many days to come. The reason behind this madness is because I love to have day-1 through day-5 hair. {I know you natural's can relate!}
I find it so important to preserve any style at night because your tresses deserve to look right in the morning. Preserving your hair styles can also add on to a list of styles you would like to create throughout the week as well.

I decided to try a new technique to preserve my braid out. It's famously called banding. Banding is a common method used to create the perfect look of a twist out or even a braid out without the fuss. This technique consists of soft rubber-bands intertwining sections of the hair. I really value the banding technique because I'm not constantly putting stress on my hair by re-braiding or re-twisting my hair at night. These stretching methods may work for some ,but chile' that doesn't work for me. Okay?

This technique is pictured below:

After finishing my task of banding my hair for bed I vastly tie down my hair using my favorite silk scarf.

HOTD: Natural Hair Cinnabon Mohawk

HOTD:
"Natural hair Braided Cinnabon Mohawk"

Today, I wanted to show you guys my glorious hair style.
This look was achieved by a picture I found over at ,"Curlynikki.com". I got inspired, well scratch that my hair stylist got inspired, and I payed the women! As you all may know I will be attending my very first senior prom! Traditionally, long curls and side-swept up do's classically made the cut for prom, but I wanted to try something a little different. My hairstylist (Breanna) braided the left and right side of my head. She then added a few pieces of kink-curly weave. To finish up the look, she suggested that I add a pompadour style to add that little pop of fierceness!

After a whopping 2 hours in the salon chair my hairstylist finally finished my hairstyle. Soon after, I was gloriously on my way to the biggest night of my life!
